LG Display has won the Gold Award for "Display of the Year' from SID (Society for Information Display). The recognition affirms the company's world-leading 3D technology which is backed by LG's innovative In Plane Switching (IPS) technology.

"Display of Year Award' was presented during a ceremony held last week in Seattle, US. LG Display's 3D LCD panel is a full HD 47-inch for use with polarized glasses. It was the world's first large-area 3D TV LCD panel to be mass produced and received high marks for playing an integral part in opening the era of 3D TV. The panel produces crisp and true-to-life 3D images in addition to realizing superior quality 2D images thanks to the application of IPS technology.

At the awards ceremony, Lee, Vice President, Head of Promotion Department, IPS technology spokesperson commented, "With IPS technology being the primary characteristic of LG Display's 3D LCD Panel, viewers can be assured of the best picture quality which guarantees a sharp and clear picture. We are extremely delighted to receive the Gold Award this year as it emphasizes our unsurpassed 3D technology. LG Display's 3D technology with LG's IPS technology assures the best 3D Picture Quality like 2D. IPS technology is definitely the first choice of consumers that promises a truly world-class viewing experience."

IPS technology offers vivid & clear 3D motion picture because of its fast MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) and the same color from any viewing angle to give more natural 3D picture to everyone. Viewing experience is therefore enhanced as viewers are assured that there will be no colour distortion from any angle, thus being least strenuous to human eyes. The touch panel is also vastly stable as moving picture image sticking does not occur.
