Limca Book of records honours seven extraordinary Indian achievers
With 21 refreshing and informative chapters, the 2010 edition of the record book celebrates over 10,000 remarkable achievements out of which 6,000 are new records, all showcasing extraordinary feats of Indians across the globe. The 21st edition of the record book was launched at a special event attended by the "People of the Year', Atul Singh, President & CEO Coca-Cola India & South West Asia and Vijaya Ghose, Editor, Limca Book of Records.
According to Atul Singh, President & CEO Coca-Cola India & South West Asia, "Limca Book of Records has always been a platform for Indians, unknown, unheard and unsung, to showcase their special talents. In its 21st edition, the book also acknowledges the significant contribution of 7 prominent Indian luminaries from various walks of life by felicitating them as "People of the Year' 2010. The outstanding achievements of these 7 stalwarts and other record holders in the latest edition reveal the grandeur of 21 glorious years of Limca Book of Records. The book truly catalogues "India at Her Best'.
As part of the launch of the 21st edition of Limca Book of Records, a special performance by the famous Prince Dance Troupe from Behrampur, Orissa †featured in the 2010 edition of Limca Book of Records 2010 as winners of the "India's Got Talent" competition show †was organized.
The 21st avatar of Limca Book of Records incorporates achievements across 20 buzzing fields like Human Endeavour, Sports, Medical Science, Government, Painting etc.
According to Vijaya Ghose, Editor, Limca Book of Records, "Limca Book of Records, now in its 21st year celebrates two decades of extraordinary achievements of Indians across the globe. The record book truly catalogues "India At Her Best' and provides us with the opportunity to acknowledge and applaud these inspiring efforts. As a special gesture, the Limca Book of Records also invited Ramesh Babu, holder of 39 Limca Book of Records to the special function. Featured over 15 times in the record book since 1991, Ramesh Babu was also amongst the 20 "People of the Year' felicitated by the Record book in 2009. Recognizing his long association with the Limca Book of Records, Atul Singh, President & CEO Coca-Cola India & South West Asia presented two tickets of the FIFA World Cup„¢ 2010 Finals to be played in South Africa on July 11th, 2010.
