LinkedIn tests ‘News Banner’ in India for real-time updates
LinkedIn, the world’s largest online professional network, has introduced a new ‘News Banner’ feature in India to help professionals stay informed about the latest developments shaping the business and professional world. Currently in the testing phase, the feature is also being piloted in the United States and Canada.
The LinkedIn News Banner appears at the top of the feed and highlights developing or trending news stories curated by LinkedIn’s team of trusted editors. Clicking on the banner will lead users to a dedicated page featuring in-depth insights, relevant articles, and LinkedIn posts from top publishers and industry experts.
Designed to provide real-time updates, the News Banner will showcase stories from the last 24 hours, ensuring members stay current with the latest professional conversations. Users can manage their experience by dismissing a story using the “x” button, which will hide the banner for 24 hours. Additionally, notification preferences can be adjusted through Feed Preferences Settings.
The feature is currently available on mobile, reinforcing LinkedIn’s focus on enhancing user engagement and delivering valuable content directly to professionals' feeds. If successful, the platform may expand the feature to more regions in the future.
