Marc Allera to resign from BT’s CD as CEO; Claire Gillies takes over
Marc Allera will step down from his role as CEO of BT’s Consumer Division in Spring 2025, with Claire Gillies set to take over as his successor. Claire will join as CEO-Designate and become a member of the Executive Committee on December 10, 2024, starting a smooth transition period with Marc. After nearly a decade at BT Group, Marc will officially leave his position on March 31, 2025, and Claire will assume the role of CEO on April 1, 2025.
Allison Kirkby commented, "Marc has been an exceptional leader, driving BT Consumer’s growth and overseeing key milestones, including the integration of EE, the creation of the BT Sport joint venture with Warner Bros Discovery, and the launch of EE as our flagship consumer brand. We are grateful for Marc’s contributions and support, and I look forward to the collaboration between him and Claire during the transition."
Claire Gillies expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am thrilled to be joining BT at this exciting time. BT and EE are leading brands in the UK, and I’m eager to help drive further success as we continue to connect people, devices, and machines.”
Marc Allera reflected on his tenure, saying, “I’m proud of the team’s achievements and the transformation we’ve undergone. Together, we’ve created a strong foundation for future growth, and I’m excited to see Claire take BT’s Consumer division to new heights. I leave with great memories and deep gratitude for my colleagues.”
