Maruti Suzuki's first electric SUV to debut at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to revolutionize electric mobility in India. The company will unveil its production-ready eBorn SUV, the e VITARA, at the prestigious Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

The e VITARA is a global model manufactured in India for the world, and it was recently revealed by Suzuki Motor Corporation at a special event in Milan, Italy.

Commenting on the upcoming launch, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said: “The e VITARA is a testament to our commitment to sustainable mobility and technological innovation. Drawing on decades of automotive expertise, we’ve seamlessly integrated advanced electric technology with a customer-first approach to deliver something truly transformative. At Maruti Suzuki, we have always believed that promoting EV adoption requires creating a holistic ecosystem that simplifies the ownership experience for our customers.”

Banerjee emphasized the importance of addressing key barriers to EV adoption, particularly the lack of accessible charging infrastructure. “One of the biggest challenges to widespread EV adoption is the lack of reliable and convenient charging options. To overcome this, we are committed to introducing a comprehensive EV ecosystem alongside the e VITARA. This will include home charging solutions and a nationwide network of fast chargers available at Maruti Suzuki dealerships and service touchpoints. Our goal is to make EVs more accessible, convenient, and appealing to a broader customer base, and that’s exactly what we aim to achieve with the e VITARA,” he added.

The e VITARA is built on the HEARTECT-e platform, which is specially designed for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The SUV is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and advanced safety features, promising a superior driving experience for Indian consumers. As Maruti Suzuki moves forward with its EV strategy, the e VITARA will play a central role in the company’s drive to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India and help create a cleaner, more sustainable future for the automotive industry.
