Maushumi Chakravarty appointed as Director General of Akashvani News

Maushumi Chakravarty, a seasoned officer of the Indian Information Service (IIS) from the 1991 batch, has taken over as the Director General of Akashvani News. With extensive experience across various media organizations under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B), including the Press Information Bureau and Central Bureau of Communication, Chakravarty brings a wealth of expertise to her new role.

Throughout her career spanning over thirty years, she has also served on deputation at the National Human Rights Commission and as Private Secretary to a Cabinet Minister. Chakravarty assumes her new responsibilities following the retirement of Vasudha Gupta as the Principal Director General.
