Metal Communications CMD Kurien Mathews passes away

Kurien Mathews, the Chairman and Managing Director at Metal Communications, passed away on October 4 due to a cardiac arrest. Mathews was a co-founder of Anthem, which merged with Radeus in 1994 and was subsequently acquired by Omnicom Group in 1998, resulting in the formation of TBWAIndia.

Mathews dedicated over 20 years to the establishment and growth of both Anthem and TBWA Anthem in India. Prior to his involvement with these organisations, he served as the Director of Rage Communications. Following his exit from TBWA, he took on the role of Director at Master Shipyard and Conscious Foods starting in 2008.

Kurien Mathews was recognized as a driving force behind initiatives such as 'Brands Under Fire' by Subhash Ghoshal's Foundation, in collaboration with Ivan Arthur. He was known for his diverse interests beyond advertising, making his passing a significant loss to the industry, and his memory will be cherished.
