Metamorphosis - bridging the gap between academics and industry

Academics does not always transform into the right field of work. For many freshers it's a tough space trying to scratch your way into the big world outside. What should be a simple transformation has been made complex. However this metamorphosis can now be simplified.

TalentPro in collaboration with Beanstalk and Tata Institute of Social Sciences have organized METAMORPHOSIS, an industry ' academy partnership initiative. Metamorphosis aims at bridging the gap between academics and industry in terms of education system and the industry taking up the responsibility in accentuating the skills of an individual before entering the fast paced corporate sector.

Our existing educational system is conventional in its approach and is therefore unable to bring out suitable candidates that can cater to the industry demands. With a growth rate of around 8% GDP year after year, India is pacing ahead to be a super power on its own, which has changed the Global Outlook towards India As the Indian economy looks to grow further in the coming decades, new jobs and roles are getting created with increasing complexities and requiring specific skill sets. Every year countless aspirants enter the job market; however the challenge before the industry is not in the supply of talent but rather in the employment opportunities.

Since Education and employability are not in pace with each other, the three parties which need to play a critical role in addressing this skill-gap challenge are the Universities, Training providers and HR Solution providers. Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Beanstalk, and TalentPro have therefore joined hands towards this goal.

This insightful event compromised of two panel discussion followed by presentations from students and the launch of "Up the Beanstalk" a book on HR and entrepreneurship by Kalpana Bansal.
