Modi lbw Mobile apps: Fans' snickometer exposes poor quality of service
Unhappy customers dismissed the apps, packing it off to the stands, stating its delivery was only too sloppy. Citing customer dissatisfaction due to poor quality of services as its main reason, Global Cricket Ventures terminated DCI services contract for mobile application rights for IPL 2010.
Though it had offered a plethora of features in the IPL app like Live News Feeds, Match Schedules that were searchable by venue, team and date, Live Scoreboard, Realtime ball-by-ball videos, Best mobile experience, DCI's IPL apps' assurances to be more than just a handy scoreboard to the cricket fans crashed after fans registered their dissatisfaction against non-delivery of 100% contentment to app users' as promised.
Right from the pricing of packages to the quality of content and services the mobile apps provided had left a lot to be desired, said Lalit Modi, IPL Chairman and Commissioner. "In keeping with these values, the current partnership with DCI had become untenable to the IPL, necessitating its suspension," Modi said.
