More home truths behind Havells MCBs!
Lowe Lintas does it again. After shock-educating viewers for quite some time now, their latest salvo on Havell's shock-proof MCBs is a tongue-in-cheek, but definitely rib-tickling TVC that takes a dig at the mistrust that rides roughshod over marital bliss.
It has all the ingredients that make the ad a perfect recipe for middle class melodrama †a winsome maid, a misshapen man of the house, and a doubting Thomas aka wife †all warped in their own private misgivings while going about their daily chores.
The drama ensues with the man trying to switch on a hair dryer and getting an electric shock. With the setting transformed into the mid-70's electrifying rock-n-roll beat, the maid attempts to rescue her employer, both end up swaying to jolt(ing) music, hand-in-hand. Here enters the wife, who as a rule doubts the duo to be cozening her, and tries to intervene, but ends up joining the "shocked' gang. It all ends with the son entering the scene, wooden bat in hand and removing the offensive hairdryer from his father's hand, before marching off nonchalantly.
The comic tone in which the VO runs 'Havells nehi lagaoge toh shock lagega', exemplifies the product's explicit ability to prevent electric shock, incredibly driving the product preference †Havells RCCBs & MCBs.
And while the promise of totally shockproof life remains, the dramatic representation of shocks accosting the family has been shown very interestingly. Another great team effort from Balki, Syed Amjad Ali, Udayashankar Rao, Rohan Tandon, and Anurag Prasad.
