Motul India and Zypp Electric launch EV mechanic training program
Motul India and Zypp Electric have partnered to revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) landscape with a comprehensive training program focused on two-wheeler EV repair and maintenance. The initiative, which began with a two-day session for mechanics in Gurugram, is set to certify over 10,000 mechanics across India as EV repair specialists.
Motul India, a leader in automotive lubricants, and Zypp Electric, a pioneer in sustainable last-mile delivery, bring their combined expertise to bridge the skills gap in the growing EV sector. The training encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects, including EV electrical systems, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, ensuring mechanics are equipped to service both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric two-wheelers.
Initial feedback highlighted significant improvements in participants' technical skills, with mechanics demonstrating a 50% increase in EV repair knowledge.
Nagendra Pai, CEO of Motul India & South Asia, remarked: “This program aligns with Motul’s commitment to advancing mobility solutions, including EVs and sustainable technologies. By partnering with Zypp Electric, we’re empowering mechanics to thrive in the evolving automotive landscape.”
Akash Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO of Zypp Electric, emphasized: “The EV ecosystem demands grassroots interventions. Training mechanics is vital for building a sustainable last-mile delivery framework, and this initiative is a step toward that vision.”
This partnership marks a significant milestone in fostering an inclusive and skilled service network, ensuring mechanics nationwide are prepared for India's rapidly growing EV market.
