Mydala attracts 10,000 fans on Facebook
Says Anisha, founder-CEO, mydala.com, "Facebook.com/mydala fan base has emerged as our biggest promoter which is helping spread the word to their network of family, friend and co-workers. Not many corporate Facebook pages from India have had the distinction of crossing the 10, 000 fan mark. In just over 2 months of our launch, we already have 10, 645 fans as of date, a number that is increasing every hour. This only reinforces that our fans see genuine value in the value our deals deliver. mydala brings buyers and sellers together in a fun and collaborative way by offering great deals on restaurants, bars, movies, salons, yoga and much more. Each deal offers savings ranging from no less than 40% and going up to a whopping 90%. We have already partnered with more than 80 popular businesses across India and are in active discussion with many more. Once you get such great deals, there's no way anyone will want to pay retail again. We have also created an application that allows users to buy a deal from within Facebook itself."
Explaining how mydala is creating a ripple effect in the Indian social media landscape, Anisha says, "Initially, we had an arduous challenge of convincing retailers to provide discounts as deep as 40-90%. Since we started with a small base of people who knew mydala, we also had a challenge to promote these deals to the right audiences to help form the groups so the deals could actually go live. However, in just over 2 months, things have started to change for the better. Where on one hand, we are getting reverse inquiries from retailers who want to associate with mydala, on the other, we are also getting Facebook messages from our fans who want mydala to offer deals in their cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jalandhar, Jaipur, etc." Given the logistical challenges, we can't launch in all cities at once, but we hope to be expanding very soon to Bangalore, and will be present in most of the major cities in India by end of this year, added Anisha.
