NDTV Group profitable again in Q2, TV profit above Rs 10 crore

The NDTV Group has declared a profit of Rs 12.03 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2021. The Group has called this the best-ever second quarter in the history of the television company, NDTV Ltd, which has registered a profit of Rs 10.18 crore, almost double the profit that it reported at the same time last year.

The Group’s digital company, NDTV Convergence, continues to be profitable with an 11% growth in revenue in the first half of this financial year. Convergence has also reconfigured certain key deals and operations, resulting in one-time expenses of Rs 7.5 crore during this period. The management is confident that the benefits of this restructuring will be realised early.

The Group’s bank borrowings have decreased by Rs 33.9 crore since the start of this financial year. For the same six-month period, external liabilities have been reduced by Rs 26.7 crore.

The NDTV Group’s profit for the first half of this financial year is Rs 28.02 crore. This is the Group’s 8th consecutive profitable quarter.
