NDTV Imagine becomes Imagine TV

An inside source has confirmed the news that not only NDTV Imagine but the name of NDTV Lumiere will also be changed to Lumiere Movies, as the channels will now come under the Turner label. This will be effective from 1st March 2010.

Turner holds 85.68 per cent stake in the channel with a transaction of Rs 546 crore which took place in 23rd February 2010.

The deal helped NDTV Imagine become debt free and expand its budgets. In a previous conversation with Adgully, Nikhil Madhok, VP Marketing and Communications, Imagine had said, "Our marketing effort has always been strong. With our new parents ' Turner, we now have the firepower to further up the ante on our marketing effort."

Turner had earlier invested in the Hindi general entertainment channel Real. But the channel has never took off.
