Netflix enhances mobile viewing with season download feature

Netflix has announced a new feature designed to streamline offline viewing for its iPhone and iPad users.1 The platform's top downloaded shows of all time, including "Squid Game" Seasons 1 and 2, "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," "ONE PIECE," and "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," have driven demand for easier download options.2 Responding to this, Netflix is now rolling out a "Season Download" button for iOS devices, a feature already available to Android users.3
This new functionality allows users to download an entire season of a show with a single tap.4 Located on the show's display page next to the Share option, the button initiates the download of all episodes within that season.5 This eliminates the need to download episodes individually, simplifying the process for users preparing for travel or anticipating periods without internet access.
Netflix highlighted examples like downloading the new season of "The Night Agent" for a flight or "XO Kitty" Season 2 for a train journey.6 The company emphasizes the convenience of the feature for any situation where offline viewing is desired.
Users can monitor their downloads and manage individual episodes within the Downloads section of the My Netflix tab.7 The Season Download button aims to ensure that users have their chosen content readily available, regardless of location.
