Nicole Kidman shines in 'Babygirl,' a surprisingly effective erotic thriller

Released in Indian cinemas last month and now available for rent on Amazon Prime; Babygirl is a fairly engaging erotic thriller, which relies solely on the star power of the lovely Nicole Kidman.

Nicole plays Romy, the CEO of a Robotics company having a kinky torrid affair with her much younger intern Samuel (Harris Dickinson). She ain't getting orgasm from her hubby (Antonio Banderas, efficient) and longs for rough and roleplay based lovemaking, which Samuel gives her aplenty!!

Contrary to expectation, the sex scenes are aesthetically shot, with camera angles suggesting more and showing less. The basic plot is similar to The Boy Next Door (2015), which also had a mature woman getting involved with her much younger intern (student). Babygirl is much better than that J Lo movie.

In fact, Babygirl is quite good for a cosy one time watch. Nicole Kidman, at fifty seven years, still rocks it big time. As for the uncanny title, we get to know its significance over an immortal George Michael song. Wow!!
