Nobody offers me intense roles: Arshad Warsi

Arshad Warsi is going to be seen essaying the title role in ‘Bandaa Singh Chaudhary’, a film based in the 1970’s era. The film is inspired by true events, in which Arshad’s character is serious and has some action scenes too.

Since the beginning of his career, Arshad has mostly been cast in comic roles. Although his roles were appreciated, he feels that he has been offered the same roles over the period of time. “Nobody offers me intense roles, don’t know why. I am a good actor. I feel I am standing in front of a buffet table where only one dish is being left and served. Honestly, this role is also not that serious. Whatever scenes I have done are fun to watch, there is humour too. At one point of time the story takes a serious turn,” he said.

He continued, “I think every actor looks for different kinds of roles, they want to do everything. For me, it is the same thing. So, whenever I get a chance to do something different, I enjoy it a lot. I have enjoyed this film because the story is interesting, there are a lot of elements in characters  It is a wholesome and beautiful experience.”

‘Bandaa Singh Chaudhary’ narrates the story of a person who is brought up in Punjab, but eventually is asked to leave the place since he does not belong to a particular religion. It is directed by Abhishek Saxena, and co-produced by Arbaaz Khan. The film also stars Meher Vij and is releasing on October 25.
