As the show is poised to take a five year age leap into the future, the channel has decided to give the viewers the power to decide who should be replacing Avika Gor who plays the role of Anandi.

The channel has revealed three fresh faces that are being considered for the role and for the first time on Indian television the viewers will get a chance to give their preference as to who would they want to see as their new Anandi.

Explaining this initiative further, Programming Head of COLORS, Ashvini Yardi said, "Balika Vadhu, our flagship show has become a part of people's lives. The appreciation and the loyalty of viewers made Balika Vadhu a success that it is today. Now as the show is poised for an age leap, we wanted the viewers to give their preference as to who should play the role of Anandi. We value our viewers and their choices and hence decided to come up with this initiative."

The three girls shortlisted for the role include a chirpy small town nineteen year old pretty girl from Jamshedpur Pratyusha Banerjee [A], Lucknow's Nivedita Tiwari[B] a beautiful young girl with a sweet smile and a refreshingly innocent personality and Mumbai's Ketaki Chitale [C] a fresher and an avid Balika Vadhu fan.
