On June 1, 2010, I will complete 20 years of working: Ravi Kiran

Ravi Kiran in one of the posts on his weblog says: Years ago, when I was I think two or three years into working, I got a feeling I was getting bored in my job at Lintas, Delhi. So almost unwittingly I developed a yearly ritual of going to my boss and telling him that I wanted to quit the company.

I think it was Preet (Preet K S Bedi), who was initially my super boss as the office GM, then took me directly under him because I was a problem child. He told me, "How can you even think of leaving? You are an asset!", in one of those yearly "I want to quit" discussions. My chest filled with pride and my ego swelled up. Wow, a three year old guy an asset to Lintas!

What you are about to read is a candid chat between Ravi and Adgully. So here goes.

Adgully (AG): To start with, please tell us about how the journey into the marketing and advertising world happened to you.

Ravi Kiran (RK): I once read a book called "Comma' by Robin Cook and decided I wanted to be a doctor. I joined Maharaja Krishnan Chandran Rajapati college in Orissa but as I was doing my first year of medicine I read another book "Betsy' by Harold. He was one of the biggest fiction writers of our time.

Read Part II: I am just proud about the fact that I am damn curious: Ravi Kiran
