Online Advertising will be 3rd most preferred medium in 2010: Carat Study

Carat the leading media service ad agency has just released its study on 2010 predictions for media spends in the Asia Pacific region.

The study reveals that APAC region will witness a high digital Ad spends. The individual countries in APAC region will see growth such as, India: 26%, China: 25%, Hong Kong: 20% and Thailand: 20%

Digital medium will see this growth coming from the shift of Ad spends predominantly from magazine, radio and newspaper.

The study forecasts that, magazines will be affected badly and will deliver a flat 0.3% growth whereas ad spends on newspaper will see a slower growth of just 2.40%

Television having the largest market share of ad spends will still grow at 4.70% whereas online will see a dramatic growth of 12% across APAC region

According to the study Television remains as the most preferred medium for the advertisers commanding a market share of 52% with newspapers at 20%, Online at 11%, Out of Home (OOH) at 8.5%, magazines at 5.3%, Radio and Cinema will together command a mere 3.2%

Countries like Australia and Japan are forecasted to be flat year-on-year for 2010 where as Indonesia will grow its ad spends by 16%, Philippines by 10% and China by 9%
