Peepli Live to premier on Zee TV

In keeping with a legacy of bringing viewers the best of entertainment for over 18 years, Zee TV is proud to present viewers with yet another world premiere of the nationally & internationally acclaimed movie – Peepli Live! For the first time EVER on television, Zee TV will telecast the movie that was India’s official entry for Best Foreign Film at the 83rd Academy Awards. So mark your calendar as Natha comes into your home this Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 8 PM.

Peepli Live, a satirical take on farmer suicides and the media reaction to it, received much acclaim from both Indian and international critics alike. As of October 2, 2010, Peepli Live has received an overall rating of 83% from all critics. The movie was even picked up for a special screening at the Berlin International Film Festival. The movie was also named the Best First Feature Film at the 31st Durban International Film Festival in South Africa thus receiving a wide appreciation on an international platform within a very short span of time after its release.

The film stars Omkar Das Manikpuri, Raghuvir Yadav and Shalini Vatsa. In the week leading up to the telecast, Aamir Khan & eight other characters of the film will be seen in an exclusive prelude that reveals their experiences while shooting for the movie.
