Percept Art partners with Gallery Uber Art to present 'Four Corners'

Percept Art and Gallery Uber Art collaborated to present an exclusive Art Exhibition entitled ‘Four Corners’ from Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Percept Art Gallery, Mumbai.

‘Four Corners’, a Manjari Bhatnagar initiative, showcased the rare works of 5 globally renowned artists viz. Gautam Patole, Madhumita Bhattacharya, Debjani Datta, Vijay Gille and Prashant Patil Jaysing. The exhibition brought together the expressions and visions of these five internationally acclaimed artists to present a wide spectrum of creativity and serve as a platform to showcase works of art that communicated their inner expression of beauty, joy, calm and determination to fight the odds.

It was a phenomenal blend and display of oil, acrylic, water colours and charcoal as visitors revelled in the vivid colours and wide range of artistic expressions displayed at the gallery. Gautam Patole’s art focused on the mystical and rustic beauty of women, while Debjani Datta’s pieces d’art displayed the rhythm and rhyme found in the classical movements of Kathak dancers. Madhumita Bhattacharya portrayed the journey of little monks on their way to attaining Nirvana even as Vijay Gille’s art showcased the courage and nobility of endearing young warriors. Prashant Patil Jaysing displayed both the calm and turbulence of the times with his awe inspiring boat series.

Commented Harindra Singh, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Percept Limited, “We are happy to collaborate with Gallery Uber Art to present and promote such bright talents from the art world. India is home to some of the greatest artists in the world, and yet there is tremendous untapped potential that needs to be explored and exhibited. ‘Four Corners’ is another step in Percept Art’s endeavour to introduce and present a wide range of artistic talent in the contemporary Indian Art domain to cater to the growing demand of art aficionados and collectors.”

Said Manjari Bhatnagar, “Being an art collector I have seen art very closely. I always knew that I will venture into art although becoming a curator was never on the agenda. My 5 participating artists are all stars in their own right. Each of them is an authority in their respective mediums. Along with them I have seen art grow in the recent years. However, for Four Corners, I decided to assimilate different mediums and see the magic they create together. Whether it is Madhumita Bhattacharya's and Vijay Gille's acrylics, Debjani Datta's oils, Prashant Patil's water colours or Gautam Patole's charcoals, each artwork on display is mesmerising. Not only are their mediums different, the 5 artists have worked on 5 different themes just for this art show. Gautam has brought forth seduction in his women while Madhumita's little monks find solace in the shadow of the Buddha. Prashant Patil surges ahead on his boat series while Vijay Gille's continues his successful spree with Lakshya series. Last but not the least Debjani Datta’s Kathak dancers swirl in joy amidst blooming lotuses. I have a very positive feeling about this art show.”

The ‘Four Corners’ exhibition opening ceremony began at 6.30 pm on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Renowned celebrities and socialites attended the art exhibition. The ‘Four Corners’ art exhibition will continue to exhibit the works of these 5 artists at the Percept Art Gallery till Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
