PlanetSpark co-Founders on how AI is transforming education

In an era where technology is redefining every aspect of our lives, education is no exception. AI is at the forefront of this transformation, promising to revolutionize how we teach and learn. Kunal Malik and Maneesh Dhooper, Co-founders of PlanetSpark, are trailblazing this space by integrating AI to create hyper-personalized learning experiences. In this interaction, they delve into how AI is reshaping traditional education, enabling tailored teaching methods, and enhancing student engagement. They also discuss the challenges of implementing AI in education and share insights on PlanetSpark's innovative pilot programs that harness AI to craft bespoke content for students. As they explore AI's role in shaping future curriculums, Kunal and Maneesh offer a compelling vision for preparing students to excel in an AI-driven world.

How will AI transform the traditional means of imparting education, and how will it impact teaching methods and student learning?
AI is set to revolutionise education by introducing hyper personalisation, making learning more engaging and tailored to individual needs. With AI, teaching methods can adapt in real time to each student's pace and style of learning, providing instant feedback and customised resources. This shift allows educators to focus more on mentoring and less on administrative tasks, ultimately creating a more dynamic and interactive learning environment that fosters deeper understanding and retention.

How can AI help in personalising education for students with diverse learning needs, and what challenges might educators face in implementing these technologies?

AI can cater to the personalised learning needs of students by adapting content to various learning styles, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. For example, visual learners might benefit from AI generated interactive diagrams, while auditory learners could receive tailored audio explanations. However, educators may face challenges in ensuring the effectiveness, coherence, and relevance of AI generated content. Additionally, integrating these technologies requires significant investment in training and infrastructure, and there's the challenge of ensuring equitable access to all students.

At PlanetSpark, we are in the process of using AI to create personalised content for limited students as a pilot. When a new student enrolls, we automatically generate learning content based on the interests of both the parents and the student, as well as the student's current skill level. Students can choose their favorite characters and themes, which are then integrated in real time into our classes. While this product is currently in its Beta stage, we are thrilled with the fantastic results we've seen so far. We are now expanding this initiative to our broader PlanetSpark student base.

Additionally, we are also exploring the applications of AI for scoring communication skills of students, which can be used to personalise their content.

What role will AI play in shaping the future curriculum, and how can educators ensure that students are prepared for an AI-driven world?
AI will play a pivotal role in shaping the future curriculum by continuously analysing learner data to improve and adapt content in real time. It essentially acts as a personal curriculum creator for each student, ensuring that the material remains relevant and challenging. To prepare students for an AI-driven world, educators must focus on teaching critical thinking, adaptability, and digital literacy. Ensuring that the curriculum includes practical AI applications and ethical considerations will also be key in equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape.
