Prime Focus executes 'Digital Intermediate service for 'Teri Meri Kahani'
Prime Focus has provided Digital Intermediate (DI) services for Indian romantic drama, 'Teri Meri Kahani'. Produced and Directed by Kunal Kholi, 'Teri Meri Kahani' reunites the hit pair of Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
'Teri Meri Kahani' highlights the idea of soulmates. The story travels through three eras and reinforces the belief of people being made for each other. The story is of two souls who are meant to be together in every life but are separated by circumstances only to be reunited by destiny and their undying love for each other. With no memory of the past life, they embark on the same journey every life to find the other and prove love always triumphs.
The DI team at Prime Focus was led under the creative guidance of Rohan Desai, DI Head and Chief Colorist. The overall look and feel of the film was set by Colorist Aashirwad Hadkar who has films such as 'Housefull 2','Jannat 2', 'Taare Zameen Par', 'Jab We Met', 'Blue' and more to his credit.
"It was a truly a great accomplishment for Prime Focus to be part of the movie 'Teri Meri Kahani'." said Rohan Desai. "As the movie is based on a love story, and deals with three different eras, the director, Kunal Kholi’s brief was to give each era a different treatment from the other. He didn’t want the movie to be tagged as an 'epic' film, but as three different sets of love stories. The grading had to be glossy and bright while maintaining a warm and colorful look."
"The beginning of the movie was shot in Punjab and portrays India in the 1910's for which warm and bright colors were used. But as the movie progresses, portraying 60’s Bombay, the color tones were enhanced to give a pinkish, peach look. The latter part of the movie was shot the United Kingdom, so it changes to a cold and slightly bluish grey look" said Aashirwad Hadkar.
