PUMA launches 'Go Wild' campaign, Redefining brand identity
Global sports giant PUMA has unveiled its most ambitious brand campaign to date, "Go Wild," marking a significant evolution in its brand identity. The campaign aims to inspire individuals, from amateur enthusiasts to professional athletes, to embrace their true selves and discover their inherent greatness through the power of sports.
Celebrating PUMA’s 75-year legacy of pushing sports and culture forward, "Go Wild" champions the notion that sports are not just about performance, but also a powerful avenue for self-expression and joy. The campaign's core message encourages individuals to unleash their "wild" energy, tapping into the human instinct that drives the passion for sports.
"PUMA has always been home to athletes who achieved greatness in sports by being their true selves and following their own path to success," said Arne Freundt, CEO of PUMA. "With our second brand campaign, we are taking another important step in strengthening our distinctive and emotional connection with our consumers in our brand elevation journey."
The campaign kicks off with the release of the "Go Wild" hero film, a tribute to the exhilarating "runner's high" – the rush of endorphins experienced during physical activity. Unlike traditional sports campaigns that feature celebrity athletes, PUMA's film celebrates everyday runners from diverse backgrounds, showcasing their unique journeys and motivations.
"This new brand campaign represents a new vision for sport and a new chapter for PUMA, aligned with the expectations of a younger generation and rooted in PUMA’s history," explained Richard Teyssier, Global VP Brand and Marketing at PUMA. "We want to inspire the professional and everyday athletes to look inside themselves to find their own greatness and have the courage to unleash their true self."
To further amplify the "Go Wild" message, PUMA will release a series of content featuring stories from its iconic ambassadors, including Tommie Smith, Usain Bolt, and Mondo Duplantis, illustrating how self-expression has been central to their sporting journeys.
The global campaign, launched on March 20th, will continue through 2025/26, highlighting various sports categories like basketball and football, and leveraging major global sporting events to connect with audiences worldwide. PUMA's "Go Wild" campaign aims to redefine the perception of sports, positioning it as a powerful tool for personal discovery and authentic self-expression.
