Rajesh Gopal joins Tata Consumer Products as Global Chief Digital Officer
Tata Consumer Products has announced the appointment of Rajesh Gopal as its new Global Chief Digital Officer. In this role, Gopal will oversee and drive the company’s global digital strategy, accelerating its transformation and innovation in the digital space.
Gopal brings over two decades of expertise in digital and technology leadership. Prior to joining Tata Consumer Products, he was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the APAC region at Kimberly-Clark. His extensive career includes senior roles at renowned global companies, starting with his initial position as a project manager at Federal Mogul. He later transitioned to i2 Technologies and then to Unilever, where he advanced to the role of Global Platform Director for Finance and Procurement, successfully managing technology solutions across over 150 countries.
At L'Oréal, Gopal served as CIO and then Cluster CIO for South Asia, Middle East, and North Africa. His leadership in the region focused on driving digital partnerships and transforming business models, particularly in response to the shifts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. His initiatives included accelerating e-commerce, boosting social commerce, digitizing traditional trade, and enhancing direct-to-consumer capabilities.
In his most recent position as Chief Information and Digital Officer at ITC, Gopal led a significant digital transformation across the company’s diverse operations, solidifying his reputation as a leader in the digital space.
In a related development, Sunil Alaric D'Souza has been reappointed as the Managing Director and CEO of Tata Global Beverages for a five-year term, continuing his leadership of the company’s growth trajectory.
With Rajesh Gopal’s proven track record in driving digital innovation and transformation, Tata Consumer Products is poised to strengthen its position in the global market, enhancing its digital capabilities and overall customer experience.
