Rajit Dev creates a choreographic masterpiece with Aaye Haaye

Choreographer Rajit Dev, known for his creative brilliance, is back with his latest project, Aaye Haaye, a song that he considers extra special. Featuring the dynamic duo of Karan Aujla and Nora Fatehi, Dev is confident that the track will be a hit.

“Every song I do, I treat it with a fresh perspective and a new approach. Everything about Aaye Haaye is unique. We have Karan Aujla, the current hitmaker, and the queen of dance, Nora Fatehi. Their chemistry alone makes this project special,” says Rajit. He goes on to explain that his creative process revolves around vibing with the music. “I always vibe on a song and choreograph based on its feel. This time, I jammed with my team in rehearsals and we ended up creating some of the best choreography for the track,” he adds.

Rajit and Nora have collaborated on several music videos in the past, and their partnership continues to be a winning formula. “It’s always a pleasure to work with Nora. She’s so dedicated to her craft. Despite having just recovered from an ankle injury, she danced with such commitment—performing on the sand with a swollen foot, yet you wouldn’t know from her face. Her passion is unmatched, and I’m constantly inspired by her,” Rajit shares.

He further reveals, “Every time we work together, it’s a challenge to come up with something new, but it’s also rewarding. I know her strengths and weaknesses, and that allows me to design movements that best suit her. This time, it was a bit tricky due to her injury, but she pushed through with dedication.”

For Rajit, choreographing Nora is an exciting opportunity to push boundaries and experiment. “Nora is a choreographer's dream. She’s versatile, and we always manage to come up with something fresh. Our partnership is like what Saroj ji and Madhuri ma’am had with Govinda and Ganesh masterji—legendary,” he says with admiration.

A major highlight of Aaye Haaye is Rajit’s work with Karan Aujla, a collaboration that marks Rajit’s first time choreographing for the singer. “This song is special because it’s my first time working with Karan Aujla. Karan has never danced in any of his previous songs, but I had an idea to get him to do a hookstep for this one. I went to his vanity van during the shoot and taught him the step in just 10 minutes. He was so sweet and willing to give it a try. It turned out amazing, and people are loving how Karan has vibed with the choreography,” Rajit explains.

As the praises pour in for Aaye Haaye, Rajit reflects on the experience. “It’s been a memorable journey creating this song. The energy, the passion from both Karan and Nora, and the amazing team work have made this a fantastic project,” he concludes.
