Rajkummar Rao is set to attend National Voters' Day event

Following his appointment as the Election Commission's national icon at a ceremony in October last year, Rajkummar Rao is set to participate in his first National Voters' Day event in Delhi on January 25.

The actor is scheduled to meet the President of India Droupadi Murmu, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and other election commissioners at the event, which is aimed at creating awareness, motivate voters and counter apathy among young voters who refrain from voting during elections.

Interestingly, Rao essayed the role of a government employee on election duty in the 2017 film Newton. Following the release of the film, the actor was appointed as brand ambassador for civic polls by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram.
