Record 95,000 bread slices donated by Harvest Gold at Global Race
Harvest Gold, a leading bread brand in India under Bimbo Bakeries India and part of Grupo Bimbo, the world's largest baked food company, announced a record-breaking donation of 95,000 bread slices as part of the 9th edition of the ‘Harvest Gold Global Race 2024.’
The event, held in the Delhi NCR region, aimed to combat hunger, with a pledge to donate 20 slices of bread for every participant registered. This year saw an impressive turnout of 4,750 participants.
The race, which promotes an active lifestyle and healthy living, featured diverse categories including a 3K walkathon, 3K run, 5K run, and 10K run. Renowned fitness icon Milind Soman flagged off the event as the ‘Race Ambassador,’ leading participants in their quest for fitness and community engagement.
Harvest Gold collaborated with the Snehdhara Charity Council, an NGO dedicated to food security, educational resources, and elderly care.
Raj Kanwar Singh, Managing Director of Bimbo Bakeries India, expressed gratitude to the participants, stating: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to the thousands who joined us for this meaningful event. Their enthusiasm contributed to the success of this year’s race, allowing us to donate 95,000 slices of bread to those in need. We are also grateful to Milind Soman for his support in this global initiative, which spans 21 countries.”

Now in its 9th year, the Global Race has attracted over 140,311 participants worldwide, with Toronto serving as the host country. This year alone, more than 3 million bread slices have been donated across 21 countries, making a significant impact and raising awareness about hunger, one slice at a time.
