Republic Digital announces second edition of Republic Digital Roundtable

Building on the resounding success of the inaugural Republic Digital Roundtable, we are proud to announce the second edition of this series. The first edition, in Bengaluru, focused on "The Budget Blueprint for Startups 2024" and hosted over 20 prominent startup founders, co-founders, CEOs, and presidents for impactful discussions in their industry verticals. The event set a high standard for fostering meaningful dialogue and strategic networking.

India has the 3rd largest automotive market in the world (2023), contributing over 7.1%, to the country’s GDP. India’s automotive sector is experiencing transformative changes with the rise of electric vehicles (EVs), advanced mobility solutions, and infrastructure enhancements. This transformation is further underscored by Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s projection that the cost of petrol and diesel vehicles will soon be comparable to that of EVs within the next two years. This anticipated cost parity highlights India’s evolving role as a significant player in global automotive innovation. The sector's growth, driven by electrification, technological integration, and sustainable practices, is setting the stage for a future where India leads in shaping the future of mobility.

This edition is scheduled for 4th October at the Republic Auditorium, Noida facility as Delhi-NCR is widely regarded as the nerve centre of India’s automotive sector. As home to major automotive manufacturers, policy decision-makers, and research hubs, the city plays a pivotal role in shaping the industry's future.

Reflecting on the automotive panel in the first edition, panellists noted, "India's structured subsidy programs since 2019 have greatly accelerated technology adoption. To become a tech powerhouse in the next five years, we need a balanced focus on both infrastructure and cutting-edge technology."

Another panellist emphasised the importance of standardisation in the EV space and said, "For uniform standardisation of chargers, batteries, and IoT devices in the EV sector, the government should not only recommend but mandate it. However, as the industry grows, implementing such standards is not an easy task."
