Role extension for Joy Chakraborthy, Chief Revenue Officer, ZEEL

It has been the time of being in news for Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) is in news. As a result of the latest development with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), the company would now see its Chief Revenue Officer ' Joy Chakraborthy taking over the charge for two more niche channels of the company, Zee Café and Zee Studio.

He would be taking over the reins from the Business Head for Zee Café and Zee Studio, Sujoy Kutty who has been transferred his new assignment for ZEEL's flagship channel, Zee TV. To felicitate the absence of Sujoy Kutty, the responsibility of managing the channels were left with Anurag Bedi, Business Head with ZEEL and currently in charge of Zing, ETC Muzic and Zee Trendz. He would now be reporting to Mr. Charaborthy.

The added responsibility has come Chakraborthy' way including his profile of that being the Chief Revenue Officer for the company along with him being involved in managing other niche channels such as - Zing, ETC Muzic and Zee Trendz as well for ZEEL.

It started with the board of directors of ZEEL and Zee News Limited (ZNL) approving the de-merger of ZNL's regional entertainment business (R-GEC) to ZEEL in October 2009. However, because of the fall out of the decision, in January, 2010 Zee Entertainment bagged the control of the six regional channels - Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies, Zee Bangla, Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada and Zee Cinemalu.

To add further to the chain of events, the company further decided to come up with a committed sports channel that saw its subsidiary Taj TV India being declared the new distribution unit for ZEEL's sports channels - Zee Sports and Ten Sports from Zee Turner.

It seems the ZEEL is undergoing a whole bunch of operational and organizational changes and the recent developments have been part of their operational strategy. However, it would be interesting to wait and see ZEELS future plans in order to manage the different functionalities of their work.
