Samay Raina Launches 'India's Got Latent' App

Stand-up comedian Samay Raina, known for his bold and unfiltered humor, has launched a new app named "India's Got Latent," inspired by his popular YouTube show of the same name. The app, which aims to evolve into an OTT platform, will feature episodes of India's Got Latent and other diverse content, ranging from poetry and rap to unconventional reality shows.

A parody of the well-known reality TV show India's Got Talent, India's Got Latent offers a fresh approach to showcasing talent with a unique scoring system. Contestants present their skills before a panel of judges and rate their own performance. If their self-rating matches the judges' average score, they win all the ticket revenue from that episode.

The app has already launched 12 episodes and continues to expand its library. It also features exclusive content for YouTube subscribers at Rs 59 per month. Raina has brought in high-profile guests such as Siddhant Chaturvedi, Badshah, Poonam Pandey, Rakhi Sawant, and others, making it an exciting hub for entertainment. Additionally, the platform plans to roll out a unique rap show with hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut and YouTuber Rohan Cariappa, who is known for critiquing the hip-hop scene.

In a bold move, Raina has made the decision to keep the content on the app raw and unfiltered, without censoring it to meet brand guidelines. This no-holds-barred approach could be a double-edged sword for brands, as Raina's edgy humor often includes strong language, which might make some companies wary of associating with the platform. However, his decision has already attracted sponsorships from brands like POP UPI and Spinny, which have sponsored episodes despite the risks involved.

With 67 lakh subscribers on his YouTube channel, Raina is tapping into his massive following to offer an alternative to YouTube's revenue-sharing model, providing creators with a platform to showcase unfiltered, authentic content.
