Sanjeev Srivastava joins Sahara

Sahara India Pariwar has roped in Sanjeev Srivastava as CEO and editor-in-chief. Sanjeev will head all media activities of the Group.

Prior to this Sanjeev was India Editor at BBC and will take over his position in January 2010. He worked for 16 years with BBC and was responsible for the entire BBC Hindi output generated from India across all platforms - FM, short wave and online.

Sanjeev has an experience of 25 years in journalism and has worked with various organisations like the Times of India and Indian Express.

At the same time Sahara has also appointed Upendra Rai as editor and news director. Prior to this, Rai was a senior editor at Star News. This is Rai's second stint in Sahara, from where he started his career over 12 years ago.

Both Rai and Srivastava will directly report to Sahara Group chairman Subrata Roy.
