SAVING THE GANGA-HIMALAYAN JOURNEY

This weekend on ‘Saving the Ganga’, our journey continues along the upper reaches of Himalayas. We visit Reni village, the home of the Chipko Movement, and track the origins of India’s first green movement. We discover how the people of Reni village are now leading a second agitation against hydro electric dams, which are choking the river right at its source. We also meet some people who are leading the way with positive examples of eco-tourism.
