Shah Rukh Khan set to rule again with dark role in ‘King’?
Shah Rukh Khan, who made playing bad guys on the screen look cool in his earlier films like ‘Darr’, ‘Anjaam’, ‘Baazigar’, which went on to become huge hits, is likely to return in a negative avatar once again. Much before gaining his eternal image of ‘King of Romance’, Shah Rukh gained both popularity and appreciation for his negative roles. Now, as per the latest buzz, he might once again play a negative or gray character in the much talked about film – ‘King’.
Shah Rukh’s upcoming film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. ‘King’ will be an action drama with some emotional layers. It is going to be for the first time that Shah Rukh will be starring with his daughter Suhana Khan in any project. This mega budget saga may see him playing an assassin.
Rumours of SRK playing a baddie again started when he recently expressed his desire to return to this role and approach with a new perspective at a podcast, where he was honoured for his work in cinema. But since the makers are still working on the pre-production of the film, it is yet to be confirmed.
‘King’ also stars Abhishek Bachchan. SRK is expected to begin shooting for this film early next year and the film may release on Eid 2026.
Meanwhile, there are also reports that he might be part of a horror-comedy, made under Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock banner with ‘Stree 2’ director Amar Kaushik.
