Singham Again Delivers a Diwali Blockbuster with Action, Drama, and Star Power

Taking forward Rohit Shetty's much successful cop universe; Singham Again couldn't be better timed. Featuring half the industry bigwigs, there's something in it for every Bollywood buff to relish and cherish. Bole toh, an ideal Diwali dhamaka!!

Taking the revered Hindu epic Ramayan as a plot reference, Rohit Shetty weaves a kidnap drama, where Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) travels to Srilanka to rescue his wife Avni (Kareena Kapoor) from the clutches of the modern day Raavan called Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor). Apart from Simmba (Ranveer Singh) and Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), he is supported by new entrants like 'Lady Singham' Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone) and Satya Bali (Tiger Shroff) as well.

Expectedly, the screenplay packs in loads of action, emotion and some witty punchlines (mostly reserved for Ranveer). The extended cameos work big time and the end credit scene leaves you on a high with a surprise cross-over entry to the cop universe. The end result is like a mouth watering chatpata bhelpuri, which can be called a total timepass entertainer in common parlance.

Ajay Devgn is spectacular in the titular role. Kareena Kapoor looks drop dead gorgeous even in a simple saree. Ranveer Singh is a riot as Simmba. Akshay Kumar is assuredly first rate. Deepika and Tiger do the best of the small roles assigned to them. Jackie Shroff generated quite a few ceetis and claps on his entry. He is good as always. The still pretty Shweta Tiwari and Dayanand Shetty lend able support.

As for Arjun Kapoor, he is surprisingly better as a villain than all the hero sheero roles he played so far. Having said that, his bearded face laughing maniacally looks more a teddy bear than the mega antagonist Raavan he is trying to be. Sorry!!

The action sequences meet Rohit Shetty standards and cars fly around the screen to generate the desired thrills. Music is a sore point as the main Singham theme is replaced with a new loud blaring soundtrack, which should have been avoided.

Finally, in a blockbuster like this, the negatives don't count much as the film's focus is to entertain you on a festive day. And Singham Again succeeds in this mission fabulously. Go for it, family and friends in tow!!
