Snapchat's Creator Connect aims to boost India's Gen Z storytellers
Snapchat is reinforcing its commitment to India’s thriving creator economy with the launch of Snapchat Creator Connect—a multi-city initiative designed to empower Gen Z and the next generation of digital storytellers. This program will provide creators with mentorship, growth opportunities, and engagement tools, ensuring they can build sustainable careers on the platform while redefining short-form storytelling.
Empowering the Next Wave of Gen Z Digital Creators
Snapchat has been steadily expanding its creator-first approach in India by offering a suite of programs and partnerships designed to foster creativity, growth, and monetization. Snapchat will partner with local creator agencies to support regional content creators and fuel the next generation of talent. Snap also reinforced its focus on educating and mentoring creators, highlighting programs like Snap School, which helps emerging talent refine their storytelling skills and leverage Snapchat’s tools to grow on the platform. Through content enablement programs such as ‘Savvy on Snap’, Snapchat provides consulting support and resources to help partners bring the best of pop culture to their Snapchat communities. Further strengthening monetization opportunities, Snapchat offers global creator-focused revenue share and rewards programs, ensuring creators can build sustainable careers while engaging their audiences.
The initiative kicked off in Hyderabad, a city known for its dynamic content ecosystem and deep cultural influence across movies, TV, arts, and digital media.
Speaking about this new initiative, Saket Jha Saurabh, Director of Content and AR Partnerships at Snap Inc., said “India is undergoing a paradigm shift with Gen Z taking centre stage as Creators and Consumers. Whether it’s the power of visual storytelling and catching trends, the importance of the inner circle of friends and family or the need to be truly authentic, Snapchat has been at the heart of this shift. Creator Connect is one of the ways we will engage Creators leading this change in pop culture. We are excited to meet them across the length and breadth of India.”
By working with leading creator agencies, media companies, music labels, and film studios, Snapchat is ensuring that regional voices find a global stage.
Scaling Nationwide: Chandigarh Up Next
The Hyderabad edition of Creator Connect featured leading creators, publishers, and industry leaders, providing a platform for conversations on creativity, growth, and the future of digital storytelling. The event also saw the Snapchat debut of Natural Star Nani, a celebrated Telugu film actor, bridging the gap between mainstream cinema and Gen Z’s digital expression.
Following the success of Creator Connect in Hyderabad, Snapchat is bringing the initiative to other cities, with Chandigarh already confirmed as the next stop. With over 200 million monthly active users in India, Snapchat remains committed to empowering regional creators and fostering a vibrant digital storytelling ecosystem.
As Snapchat expands Creator Connect across India, it continues to champion authenticity, creativity, and Gen Z’s vision for the future of content—ensuring that every creator has the opportunity to share their stories, grow their communities, and build lasting digital careers.
