Sparks flew when celebs met stars at Miami tennis court
In an exclusive mixed doubles tennis match packed every inch with pure entertainment and thrill, singer duo Jay Sean and Spice Girl Mel B sweated it out at the tennis court with tennis stars Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic recently in an exhibition match, "Glam,Set,Match' organized to mark the opening of the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
The "make believe' moment was complete entertainment from the word go, with Miami funnyman, Benji B, as the NFL referee and who's comic umpiring almost made the ball game appear more like a football match instead of tennis! And wherever he faltered, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, reality show star of Real Housewives of New York's fame, made up with the running commentary of the match as the MC.
To say in the least, it was true value for money for the crowd and a great way to begin the coveted Opens which is currently underway from March 22 to April 4 at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Miami's Key Biscayne, featuring some of the world's top tennis players who are fighting it out on clay for a total prize fund of US$9 million. Sony Ericsson is the title sponsor of the Sony Ericsson Open; the unofficial, fifth grand slam.
Congratulating Sony Ericsson for carrying on its tradition of opening tournaments with dazzling and spectacular stunts ' a tradition that began with "Night Tennis' in 2007 †the tennis star duo expressed their happiness at the celeb-public interaction and the fun they had at the sets. Last year, the company stopped traffic on Miami's busiest street, Ocean Drive to make Andy Murray and Venus Williams play "Traffic Tennis' on tennis on top of two cars! And boy; was that some traffic stopper!
