Sr. level changes at Viacom 18, Rajesh Kamat is the new Group-COO

Viacom 18 has elevated Rajesh Kamat to the new role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the group. Kamat is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Colors, the General entertainment channel of Viacom 18 and will continue to handle dual responsibility.

The promotion looks to be the result of outstanding performance of Colors, which took place in a very short span under the leadership of Kamat.

On the other hand Ashish Patil of MTV has been shifted to work in Kamat's team as Sr. Vice President (Sr. VP), New Ventures and General Manager (GM), Youth Movies. At MTV, Patil was the Sr. VP and GM, creative and content. The vacant place at MTV has been filled in by Vikas Varma, who has been appointed as head of creative and content. Prior to this Varma was Content and Business Head, INX media.

The media giant, Viacom 18 has Colors, MTV India, Nickelodeon India, VH1 and Studio18 under its umbrella.
