Star Movies rings in the New Years with ''New Year's Eve Double Premiere'' line up

If you haven’t decided on your New Year’s plan, don’t fret. STAR Movies, India’s leading English movie channel once again brings the greatest premieres for viewers from across the country, this time as a New Year’s Eve special. On 31st December 2011 Star Movies lines up “New Year’s Eve Double Premiere” a special offering for their fans which will see back to back blockbuster premieres, Knight & Day and Tangled being telecasted on the channel. This special year-ender programme gives viewers an alluring reason to glue themselves to their television sets on the New Year’s Eve, and reaffirms the channel’s commitment in bringing only the best in Hollywood entertainment for viewers in India. 

Knight & Day will see Mega-star Tom Cruise teaming up with the loveable Cameron Diaz to bring their sexy, action-packed, thrill-ride blockbuster movie right into your living room on 31st December 2011 at 9 pm followed by Tangled, an animated musical fantasy comedy film at 11 pm. With the channel available in High Definition, viewers at home will be able to enjoy all the thrills, including the wild car and motorcycle chase scenes along with the animation and the music in optimal picture and sound.

This the first of its kind programming initiative undertaken by the channel that will feature back to back premieres on an English Movie Channel for the viewers. 

KNIGHT AND DAY features the huge star power and on-screen sizzle of Tom Cruise (Valkyrie; Mission Impossible) and Cameron Diaz (What Happens in Vegas; Charlie’s Angels) in the action thriller directed by the acclaimed James Mangold (Walk the Line; 3:10 to Yuma). The film’s strong cast also includes actors Peter Sarsgaard (An Education, Garden State), Viola Davis (Eat, Pray, Love; Doubt) and Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine; The Girl Next Door).

TANGLED, The Walt Disney Studios blockbuster animated feature that takes a modern twist on the famous hair-raising fable Rapunzel, premieres on STAR Movies. It is the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The film features the voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy and is loosely based on the German fairy tale "Rapunzel" in the collection of folk tales that the Brothers Grimm published.
