StudyNation.com launches college prospectus marketplace

StudyNation.com (formerly StudyTimes) has launched a marketplace for college prospectus, a first in the Indian market. Students can now, from the comfort of their homes, order prospectus and admissions forms of colleges through StudyNation at www.studynation.com/college-prospectus.

The prospectus marketplace also allows students to communicate directly with the college through a query form. Through this, even the colleges can reach out to prospective students in an organized fashion and convince them of the benefits of joining the particular institute.

Commenting on the newly introduced feature, Vivek Pahwa, CEO Accentium Web remarked, "Couple of observations drove us to this product feature. One, students nowadays are becoming more mobile and are willing to study in cities far from their current location. Two, a lot of time is wasted in the application process once the student has decided to apply. We view this marketplace as a convenient alternate to the existing prospectus buying process. Students no longer have to prepare DDs for the forms, or travel to the campus to buy these forms. Once they have decided to apply to a college, the buying process should be smooth. I also see colleges benefiting a lot from this, through a wider coverage that extends beyond existing selling centers such as banks."

Ankur Warikoo, Co-Founder, Accentium Web added, "Almost all students today are online. However, we believe that online applications are still a couple of years away, for the Indian market. The marketplace is our attempt to gradually move the students from a complete offline interaction with the colleges to a mix of online-offline interactions. When the time is right, online applications will also come in."

For the next academic session, StudyNation plan to have more than 50 colleges on the marketplace, offering their prospectus to students all across India, irrespective of location. The prospectus marketplace is one of several new features that StudyNation plans to release in the next year. With a database of over 25,000 colleges and over 4,00,000 courses, StudyNation.com is a one-stop shop solutions for Indian students looking at pursuing an education in India or Internationally.

Additionally, through a network of education service providers, StudyNation is delivering education-related services that students require, over and above just information. This includes test preparation, counseling for both Domestic and International education, career-choice tests etc.
