TAITRA to organize a quiz 'The SmarTEST' with prize money of US $100,000!
Following the smashing success of the IT Travelers Go! campaign last year, Taiwan Excellence is back in town with the 2012 Taiwan Excellence big idea campaign “The SmarTEST!” organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), a non- profit trade promotion organization. Celebrity Endorser Malaika Arora Khan officially announced The SmarTEST! campaign along with 31 Taiwan international brands from the ICT industry, Home appliances industry and Sports & Leisure industry.
The India team had won The SmarTEST! challenge last year and brought home pride and glory along with prizes and cash rewards. This year, The SmarTEST! campaign has not only broadened its scope but also increased the prizes and cash rewards to USD 100,000. The SmarTEST! has been launched in four emerging markets - India, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. Anyone interested in participating can log on to www. 2012smartest.com and sign for the 24-hour online challenge on July 7, 2012. The challenge is aimed at testing the contestants on their general knowledge and knowledge of Taiwan and Taiwan Excellence brands. Top ten contestants with the highest scores from each country will proceed to the next round of challenges, which will be conducted in August. The contestants will be required to perform a series of tasks, using a variety of Taiwan Excellence products. The winner will be decided base on the number of votes received in support of each contestant. The champion of Round 2 challenges will then choose two people to constitute a team that will represent their country and compete against the winning teams from the other three countries in the finals to be conducted in Taipei, Taiwan in October 2012. The contestant that gains the most number of favorable reviews and support from The SmarTEST! Committee and online followers will win The SmarTEST! championship title. The total prize money, including the Grand Prize, is valued at USD 100,000 including cash rewards and Taiwan Excellence products.
30,000 participants are expected to compete online in The SmarTEST! Challenge at https://www.2012smartest.com/ on July 7th over a period of 24 hours. Contestants can participate from anywhere they are through their desktop, laptop or smartphone. Alternately, they can log online at The SmarTEST! quiz center at Trade Center, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. Contestants are reminded to take necessary rest and have food and drinks at their own discretion and expense, while at the quiz center, which will be open throughout the duration of the quiz from 9 a.m. on July 7 to 9 a.m. on July 8 local time.
