Telecom and Internet brings respite to trees in India
Good news for a environment lovers a survey in 5 major cities i.e. Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad across India with over 5000 people from different sections of society e.g. Businessmen, Service professionals, Housewives, Students and Senior citizens revealed many points that says print yellow pages' usage is declining amongst users who are turning to telephonic and internet search engines which give faster, relevant and accurate information.
According to the survey 81 per cent people do NOT use Print Yellow Pages at all and do NOT intend to use them in future, 72 per cent of Business respondents do NOT use Print Yellow Pages at all, while 19 per cent people, who use Print Yellow pages, use it occasionally in a year.
Despite the low penetration of internet in India, the country is experiencing a radical shift towards new age technology enabled media, the trend getting much similar to the developed countries.
So all the print yellow pages brands, why not keep the pages yellow but switch to web pages instead of print pages. Jokes apart, though this does not appears to be a conscious effort but more of an accidental outcome that is working in favour of the environment. Why not turn it for real and enjoy a cleaner and greener environment.
