The Daily Thanthi group has launched a new channel, Thanthi One

The Daily Thanthi group has ventured into the general entertainment sector with the launch of its new channel, Thanthi One, on May 19, 2024. This new addition enhances the Tamil entertainment landscape and builds on the group's success with its flagship Tamil daily newspaper, Daily Thanthi, the renowned Tamil news TV channel, Thanthi TV, and the popular radio station, Hello FM.

Thanthi One distinguishes itself by offering free access to a diverse array of content across various platforms, including television, YouTube, the web, and a mobile app. Recognizing the evolving preferences of viewers and the changing content consumption landscape in India, Thanthi One aims to deliver a seamless viewing experience that caters to both traditional and digital audiences. The channel is dedicated to providing quality entertainment that resonates with Tamil audiences worldwide, featuring a curated selection of content from across India and beyond.

The channel offers a unique hourly format with daily and weekly programs. Highlights include Coffee with Kadavul (6 am – 9 am), featuring three marquee shows: Bala Krishna, Ganapathiye Varuvaai, and Veera Anjaneya; Evergreen Pudhaiyalgal (12 pm – 3 pm), which airs nostalgic serials like Ilavarasi, Thamarai, and Chellame in a fast-paced, color-enhanced format; Mega Dramas (6 pm - 8 pm), with weekly episodes; the epic Indian TV drama Porus (8 pm - 9 pm); and Super Hit Cinema (9 pm – 12 am), featuring a new movie every night.

A key differentiator in the Tamil market is Thanthi One's strategy to offer weekly episodes of mega dramas from 6 pm - 8 pm, showcasing seven titles each week:

  1. Ahalyabai (Historical Fiction) – Mondays
  2. Tulsi c/o Krishna (Contemporary Fantasy) – Tuesdays
  3. Tenali Raman (Historical Dramedy) – Wednesdays
  4. Aladdin (Fantasy & Adventure) – Thursdays
  5. Devi (Devotional) – Fridays
  6. Garuda (Devotional) – Saturdays

At 7 pm, the channel also airs women-centric dramas, with a different title each day:
