The Razor's Edge is different than Crime Patrol says Makers of the show

In a first of its kind initiative, Shlok Entertainment  headed by Subbu and Neeraj Naik, the makers of Crime Patrol,  is all set to release a two hour intense suspense thriller titled “The Razor’s Edge” online at Shlok Entertainment/Youtube slated to release on October 23rd, 2015

Aptly named “The Razor’s Edge”, the film attempts to expose the trials and tribulations of the film industry while keeping the audience at the edge of their seats. It follows the journey of the male protagonist Sameer, played by Pankaj Singh who like any newcomer finds no takers for his script. He lacks any backing.  His fortunes suddenly take a turn when he befriends Tanya (Shweta Gulati) and all doors mysteriously open up for him. Suddenly Sameer has a line of producers knocking on his door to work with him. For Sameer it feels like the fortune gods are being benevolent to him till he & Tanya become the prime suspects of all the gruesome murders of the producers who refused to work with him. Who could be behind these calculated murders? Why is Sameer harbouring a fear of the razor?

Speaking about the film, Director & the Producer, Subbu & Neeraj Naik say, “The Razor’s Edge is a suspense thriller which is bound to bring out the investigative instinct in the viewers’ mind.  With the evolution of the internet, we are breaking the norm with this film and will be releasing it on the internet as we feel that it is the right medium for our target audience. A digital release will allow the viewers to enjoy this film in their own space."

On being asked how it is different from Crime Patrol, they reply,The Razor’s Edge, is a thriller and a fictitious story. It has crime, investigation, romance and a gripping storyline. No…it’s not in the same format as Crime Patrol but coming from the people who make Crime Patrol there will be shades of whodunit and suspense in the story telling”.

Regarding Promotional strategies and reasons behind telecasting it on digital platform, they state, “Since its being released on a digital platform, hence all promotions are also being planned for the digital/online medium so that it reaches maximum target audience who are tuned to online viewing. The rest of the audience we are hoping to bring in with word of mouth. We think Digital Platform is a very new and vibrant medium. The online traffic is growing every day. And we would like to be one of the forerunners in exploring this platform with a full length film. Ours is an independent film, with not any faces. It’s a content driven film. And digital platform is one area where content works most. The option of a television telecast is always open even after putting it on digital platform”.

Crime shows are difficult to execute. In a closing note they say, “The biggest challenge is how one tells the story interestingly keeping the authenticity in mind. As also since it deals with crimes, being sensitive enough to be subtle where it is needed. That’s where the story telling part plays the most important role. How one narrates the case, from which point of view. Most of the cases of crime are complex in nature. Not just the act of crime, but it involves the complexity of the people who resort to such an extreme measure in life. The exploration of these complexities in itself is a very engaging process, from both the research point of view as also from telling that research visually in a story form. And Crime Patrol has maintained its credibility and respectability all through its journey”.
