TRAI invites applications for appointment of two whole-time members

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has invited applications for appointment to two posts of whole-time members. The tenure of the post is for a term not exceeding three years or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

Applicants can be retired Government officials who had held the post of Additional Secretary to the Government of India or any equivalent post in the Central Government or the State Government, or a senior executive from the private sector with at least 25 years of professional experience and who has served as a member of the board of directors or is the chief executive of a company.

The applicant must have special knowledge of, and professional experience in, telecommunication, industry, finance, accountancy, law, management or consumer affairs.

TRAI further said that the appointment shall be made by the Central Government on the recommendation of the Search-cum-Selection Committee set up for this purpose.

Last date for submission of applications is August 28, 2024.
