US$ 1 Million TV commercial for Thums Up
The Thums Up commercial has been shot in Malaysia, in the first few days of New Year. As per the media reports, the Coca Cola (India) spokesperson refuse to comment anything on the budget and said, "It is our constant endeavor to strengthen Thums Up's leadership as India's largest selling soft drink brand."
Thums Up has been always called as macho's drink, and to leverage its strong combination flavor, it roped in Akshay Kumar who himself is a macho and the advertisement has lot of stunts in it, which has worked well for the Thums Up.
Since the launch of Thums Up, the drink is ahead of all aerated drinks put together - including Coca-Cola's own brands and rival PepsiCo. Thums Up's key markets include Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Karnataka. In fact the largest chunk of Coca-Cola India's marketing and ad budgets are allocated to brand Thums Up.
