Founded by Vandana Luthra as a chain of beauty and weight management service centers in 1989, the VLCC Group was incorporated in 1996 and has since become a pioneer in the Skincare, Beauty & Wellness Industry in India. With a mission to transform lives by making skincare, beauty, and wellness accessible to both women and men, VLCC has grown over the past three decades into a household name, synonymous with quality and trust in the Indian market.
VLCC has had a long journey. How has it been, and could you share its highs and lows?
It has indeed been a fruitful journey, spanning 35 years and counting. Building a brand takes time, especially in creating awareness among consumers and establishing a legacy. Much credit goes to our founder, Vandana Luthra, whose vision was to create a beauty platform built on science, with advanced machinery imported from abroad. As pioneers in the business, we aimed to help people look and feel better.
Our brand’s foundation on high science has been pivotal in helping consumers achieve and sustain their desired transformations, with 300 clinics around the world and a range of integrated products for overall care. While there have been challenges along the way, the growth and expansion, especially in India, remain our prime focus. We are now venturing into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, ensuring that everyone can partake in our high-quality services.
How do you perceive the evolution of the Beauty Care Industry in India over the years? Could you highlight some significant milestones or transformations that have occurred within the industry?
The evolution of the beauty industry in India closely mirrors the country’s economic growth. As incomes have risen, consumers have been able to expand their repertoire of beauty products. Historically, India relied on mass-market products like fairness creams, talcum powders, and basic fragrances. However, with significant economic progress and women entering the workforce, there has been a shift towards more sophisticated and diverse beauty products.
The influx of media and the advent of e-commerce have made a wide array of products more accessible. This has allowed brands to introduce high-quality products that deliver tangible benefits to consumers. The beauty industry has seen a shift towards high-end machines and advanced dermatological solutions, enabling us to deliver far superior results. This transformation allows consumers, especially women, to overcome their flaws and experience genuine changes.
VLCC is launching a new collection. Could you tell us more about the new range and the idea behind it?
I am truly passionate about our new product launch. VLCC is a recognized expert in beauty and wellness, having served over 2 million people with the help of more than 300 medical professionals, including top dermatologists. We have taken extensive feedback from our consumers and professionals, synthesizing this expertise into our new launch – VLCC Clinic Range.
The results and delivery are exceptional. Our clinic range can now provide fast and remarkable results that our customers could only dream of before. In a market flooded with various brands, we strive to stay a step ahead with the efficacy of our products. We have in-house R&D and manufacturing, ensuring that everything comes from expert professionals.
At VLCC, we believe that influencers are not experts. For something as crucial as skin care, consumers should trust the experts, and VLCC is a trusted expert. Our new collection offers an entire regime of products, not just a single magical potion. We integrate our clinical business with our products business, presenting VLCC Clinic Range with around 55 specialized products. This integration ensures that our customers receive comprehensive and expert care.
