Weekend Exclusive | No body is a stranger here: Traveler, Apurv
A passionate traveler who gave away his business and his city life in order to live a quiet life away in a farm started to learn farming and sustainable living. Apurv, a 39 year retired from job and city life describes himself as an explorer and an enthusiastic traveler who will stop at nothing, for him borders do exist, but subliminal looks at Earth as his Mother. Adgully caught up with him to understand his journey with nature and India.
Speaking about what motivated him, Apurv said, “The joy of new places, a complimentary education in anthropology and nature kept gravitating me towards travel. While farming I understood that I lack a lot of awareness with people and land, so my travel metamorphosed in to a Journey.”
He says, “Now, I keep driving with a joyful aim, "keep traveling " & "learn limitless "..I intend to finish our entire country in a span of two years and then I cross border’s and drive around the world. Currently I enjoyed one year of drive and covered the entire coast line of India, south and bit of central India. For me there is always a hidden knowledge and treasures fun waiting.”
Speaking about his companions, he said, “My single intention is "Keep Traveling“. In my journey my Car and my equipments are my best team and I don't use mobile phone or any navigation help, I love the use of maps and asking. I started learning movie making on my way, and now I have several 2to8 min movie's and stills.” Interesting isn’t it!
He makes short films out of the collection of very simple stories which came out of the most humble interactions and India through his view. His Journey showcases many exciting places, stories and interesting learning's. Now he would like to share my stories with everyone and is interested in listening theirs. It's fun to connect with My India.
When asked about plans of having more such trips, he said, “First India then let’s see.” It’s completely self funded journey started to explore the country and share the stories with the world. No profit no other intensions; simply peace of mind and new things, this what Apurv keeps in mind while travelling. By the way, Apurv has already finished travelling South India in the span of 1 year. He says, “I was a fabulous journey and right now I am resting at west Bengal and from there I will heading towards North-East.”
Well! He is a lone traveler whose companion is no one but his car and equipment and has travelled with him to the deep realms of unexplored forests of the south to the freshwaters of “Chilka”. His interest in anthropology keeps him company with many strange people and unknown-friends. | By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal@adgully.com]
