Wipro Appoints Omkar Nisal as CEO of Europe Strategic Market Unit

Wipro Ltd. has announced the appointment of Omkar Nisal as the new Chief Executive Officer for its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), effective immediately. Nisal, who will continue to be based in London, takes over from Pierre Bruno, who is stepping down from the role. He will report directly to CEO and Managing Director, Srini Pallia, and will join the Wipro executive board.

Having been with Wipro since 2012, Nisal has built a reputation as a trusted advisor to clients, particularly in the financial services sector. Over the years, he has led high-performing teams across multiple business sectors, driving exceptional results for clients. Nisal's leadership includes overseeing Wipro’s banking-EMEA business, where he played a key role in supporting large and niche financial institutions across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with their digital transformation initiatives. His focus on customer journey redesign, enterprise engineering, and AI-driven automation has been a highlight of his tenure.

Nisal most recently served as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Wipro’s UK and Ireland business, where he managed operations exceeding one billion dollars.

His deep expertise in technology, paired with his extensive experience in leading large-scale transformations, positions him well to lead Wipro’s expansion plans in Europe. As CEO of the Europe SMU, Nisal will continue to strengthen the company’s customer-centric approach and drive growth in the region.

A graduate with honours in computer science, Nisal has also contributed to technology innovations, including patents related to channels, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection.
